played a number of positions in college as far as all the way across the

can come in and I can do it well.”

little bit and then I was getting calls. I had just stepped out of the room
when I got the call from Coach (Scott) Linehan =

in.”

“Yes, I had a =

of calls over the past 45 minutes from teams calling to say, ‘Hey,
listen, you are going to be our guy… this and that… you are goi=
ng
to be our guy… we have this open spot.’ I told them, ‘Dra=
ft
me and I will be your guy.’”

“I would say I=
’m
a productive linebacker like you just said. I’m a player that is
always around the football. I have a nose for the game and really for the
football as far as defense is concerned. I’=

heady player. I’m a player that uses his head to make sure that IR=

not out of position ever and I can make plays.”

“I clicked ove=

my agent and he said, ‘Hey, this is Coach Lineha=

from the St. Louis Rams’ and I couldn’t help but smile. He said,
‘Listen, you’re going to be our guy and you’re going to h=
ave
a great opportunity. All this Mr. Irrelevant stuff, don’t pay much
attention to that. You have this opportunity for you to come in. I think
you’re going to help us. You come from a history of where I’ve =
been
and I think we are going to mesh well.”

“Absolutely. That’s the whole deal. When it gets late=
in
the game you want to make sure that you’re going to go somewhere that=

an opportunity to for you to get a shot and I couldn’t ask for a bett=

place to go.”

“I tended to g=
et away
from it for a bit. I went golfing yesterday with my family. Today, I have j=
ust
kind of been bouncing back and forth, just trying not to be around it much.
There are some people here at my house. Usually I’m the guy who watch=
es
the draft top to bottom, but I couldn’t really do that. You find your=
self
going through all the scenarios and doing all the thinking and it just got =
too
anxious for me.”
